Michael A. Goldenberg brings a varied background in real estate, business and finance to Halstead Property. He was a founding partner of a Certified Public Accounting firm where he was active for ten years before selling his interest to his partners. During his tenure with the firm, Michael was chiefly responsible for its rapid growth into the real estate industry, having provided both audit and tax counsel to real estate concerns along with involvement in the purchase and conversion of residential properties to cooperative and condominium ownership.
Michael joined Halstead Property in 1985. In 1991, he formed the REO division of Halstead Property, which, in a short time, grew to represent eleven of the major lending institutions in marketing and disposing of their foreclosed inventory. In January 1995, Michael became the Downtown Director of Sales at a time when this marketplace was beginning to explode. In July 1998 Michael was promoted to Director of Westside sales, an office twice the size of Downtown.
Additionally, Michael assisted in developing an in-house training program for Halstead Property's 300 agents. This training program is essential to the continued professional growth of all the agents affiliated with the Company. He has also been asked by major law firms and lending institutions to act as an expert witness in Surrogates Court, Bankruptcy Court and Landlord Tenant Court.
Having been a sponsor in cooperative conversions, an owner of investment units in cooperatives and condominiums and having owned and lived in more than one cooperative in New York (and served on Boards as well) gives Michael a unique and comprehensive understanding of the New York City Real Estate market.
Michael Goldenberg is an active member of The Real Estate Board of New York, currently serving on the Governmental Affairs Committee and the Westside Committee. He previously served on the Education Committee of REBNY and on the Executive Committee of the Downtown Brokers Association.
